Molten Chocolate Cake and “Blog of the Year” Award

This is going to be one of those posts that may change your life. And the subject is simple: cakes in mugs. You, yes, you, can make a cake in a mug. And you can do it in five minutes (plus baking, but, hey, how much work is that?) The cocoa powder gives the cake a really nice dark chocolate flavor. I even added chocolate chips to the center to give it a nice milk chocolatey touch (because, you know, dark chocolate and milk chocolate are not mutually exclusive)

I found the recipe from here and I followed this method to make the cake in a mug in the oven.

But I will warn you: this cake is so easy to whip up you’ll be tempted to make it daily, perhaps! And they’re personal-sized, so no need to share! It’s yours and all yours. So, what are you waiting for?

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp and 2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • a handful of chocolate chips

Method:

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix all of the ingredients together and pour half of the batter into a lightly buttered/greased mug. Add chocolate chips to the center and then pour the remaining batter on top. Bake for about 25minutes. Repeat if you lack self control.

Blog of The Year 2013 AwardAs the title suggests, I was nominated for the “Blog of the Year” Award! Thank you, Jhuls, for nominating me!
